In many kinds of respect, supervision is very similar to coaching, for example regarding the existing settings; however, the target group of supervision was originally limited to relationship workers as for example therapists, social workers and so forth. Meanwhile, the German society has founded a professional group for supervision e.V. (DGSv) in the economy. All in all, there is formally no longer any limitation to certain target groups, thanks to the further development of supervision.
