Coaching in contrast to mentoring

Everyone knows the term of the mentor, in particular from law offices or similar. What is meant here is the relationship between a new employee and an old-established employee. The experienced employee helps his young new colleague to settle in his new job and supports him with advice with respect to available organizational structures and rites within the company. Thus, mentoring serves for facilitating the entry into a company and helps to directly make use of valuable energies of the new employee.
